Frequently Ask Questions for all Rental Units:

How can I reserve a week for a vacation?

You can contact us via e-mail or by phone to "hold" a week, deposits are required within 5 days. Please contact us by e-mail or phone to confirm you are going to reserve week. Credit Cards are now accepted.

How much is a deposit?

Deposits are $400.00 and must be paid by Credit Card (Master Card or Visa) Money Order or Certified Bank Check made payable to: Family Vacation Rentals, Ltd.. Please note Unit # , reservation week, your name, address and phone number with your deposit. The $400.00 deposit is part of your total rental fee. The balance of your rental fee is due 6 weeks prior to your vacation. When we receive your deposit, you will be mailed a receipt and rental agreement with instructions on sending the balance of your rental fee. Credit Card payments must be called into our office or printed from this Credit Card Form.

Your office is in Ohio but the units are in Myrtle Beach, how can you do this?

This is a common question. We have a great cleaning staff that takes care of our units on a weekly basis. The Maisons~sur~Mer has a full time maintenance staff for repairs if required. If anything is required please contact Family Vacation Rentals and we will have the mainanence staff look into the situation.

 How do we get the keys?

We changed all door locks to be keyless. When your final payment is received we will ask you for a 4 digit number, maybe your favorite number or something you will always remember. That number will be programmed into the lock to work upon your arrival and until you depart. We will email you all other documents that will also include maps to locate Myrtle Beach and the Maisons~sur~Mer.

Do you have a damage deposit?

Yes, we require a $100.00 damage/key deposit which is fully refundable after we receive notification that the unit was found in it's original condition.

Is cleaning included in the rental rate?

Yes, the unit is cleaned by our cleaning service after every departure on Saturdays beginning at 9:00 AM.

What is the tax rate?

The Sales Tax and Accommodation Tax for South Carolina & Horry County is 12% effective 5/1/17. Rates are subject to change and if they do change the adjusted amount will be added to your rental. This typically is just deducted from the deposit return.

Do you include linens?

Yes, linens are included in the rental fee and will include all sheets, pillow cases, bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths for six people. Beach & Pool towels are not included, please remember to bring those items.      

What is included in the kitchen?

The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and all standard cooking utensils plus a coffee pot, blender, crock pot, mixer and dish towels.

What do we need to bring?

You will need to bring your normal toiletries, paper towels, laundry soap & beach & pool towels.

Do you have Internet in the Units?

High Speed Wireless Internet is available in Units #111, #207, #808, #901, #911, #1205, #1511, #1004, #2110 & #2307.

You will need to bring your PC. Wireless Internet is also available in the lobby level.

Do you have beach chairs?

We try to have a few beach chairs for families to use and they are kept in a storage closet or in the unit. All owners purchase seasonal beach chairs (2) with (1) umbrella set up by the Myrtle Beach Lifeguards in front of the Maisons~sur~Mer during the summer season and are available for your use. Just look for unit number or ask the lifeguard. 2017 Beach Chair Season is 5/26 - 9/4/17. #2110 is not included for the seasonal beach chairs, this unit joined our group after the deadline to purchase the seasonal chairs for 2017.

What is your cancellation policy?

Upon receipt of written notice of cancellation, we will refund the monies deposited if notification is received 30 days prior to contract date and only if unit is re-rented.

What if the unit we have rented is sold? We will offer the following options:

If the new owner agrees to use the unit as a rental, your reservation will continue without any changes.

If the new owner does not wish to honor the existing rentals we will do our best to help you relocate to another unit.    

If there is a lower cost for this unit you will be refunded the difference. If the rental cost is more you will be liable for the additional cost paid to that owner.

We will offer a full refund of all monies collected for your rental if the above options are not satisfactory.

Age Requirement to rent?

SC Law states persons need to be 25 years old unless married to rent.

What is your hurricane policy?

Our policy, in the event that a hurricane requires mandatory evacuation, you will be fully refunded for all of the nights not used during your vacation.
