How can I reserve a week for a vacation?

You can contact us via e-mail or by phone to "hold" a week. Deposits are required within 5 days from the day we spea with you. We accept credit cards, money orders, and certified bank checks.

How much is a deposit?

Deposits are $400.00 and must be paid by Credit Card (Master Card or Visa) Money Order or Certified Bank Check made payable to: Family Vacation Rentals, Ltd.. The $400.00 deposit is part of your total rental fee. The balance of your rental fee is due 6 weeks prior to your vacation. After we receive your deposit, we will mail a receipt and rental agreement with instructions on sending the balance of your rental fee. Credit Card payments must be called into our office.

Your office is in Ohio but the units are in Myrtle Beach, how can you do this?

It would be impossible to offer condo rentals if owners were always there. On the very rare occasion it's needed Maisons sur Mer is  has a full time maintenance staff for repairs. Our committed cleaning staff takes are of the weekly needs of our units. If anything pops up give us a call and we'll get right on it. We can't promise nothing will ever happen but we can promise you'll get help immediately.

 How do we get the keys?

We changed all door locks to keyless. When your final payment is received we will ask for a 4 digit number, maybe your favorite number or something you will always remember. That number will be programmed into the lock to work upon your arrival and until you depart. We will email you all other documents that will also include maps to locate Myrtle Beach and the Maisons sur Mer.

What is the damage deposit?

We require a $100.00 damage/key deposit which is fully refundable after we receive notification the unit was found in its original condition.

Is cleaning included in the rental rate?

Absolutely, there are no hidden charges with Family Vacation Rentals. Every unit is cleaned by our cleaning service after every departure on Saturdays beginning at 9:00 AM.

What is the tax rate?

The Sales Tax and Accommodation Tax for South Carolina & Horry County is 12%. Rates are subject to change and if they do change the adjusted amount will be added to your rental. This typically is just deducted from the deposit return.

Do you include linens?

Yes, linens are included in the rental fee and will include all sheets, pillow cases, bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths for six people. Beach & Pool towels are not included, please remember to bring those items.      

What is included in the kitchen?

The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and all standard cooking utensils plus a coffee pot, blender, crock pot, mixer and dish towels.

What do we need to bring?

Bring your normal toiletries, paper towels, laundry soap & beach & pool towels.

Do you have Internet?

High Speed Wireless Internet is available in Units #111, #207, #808, #901, #911, #1205, #1511, #1004 & #2110. Wireless Internet is also available in the lobby level. None of the units include laptops or other digital equipment.

Are beach chairs available?

We try to have a few beach chairs for families to use and they are kept in a storage closet or in the unit. All owners purchase seasonal beach chairs (2) with (1) umbrella set up by the Myrtle Beach Lifeguards in front of the Maisons sur Mer during the summer season and are available for your use. Just look for unit number or ask the lifeguard. 
2018 Beach Chair Season is 5/25 - 9/3/18. 

What is the cancellation policy?

Have to cancel? We will return your rental fee under two circumstances. Written notice of cancellation must be received at least 30 days before your vacation is scheduled and we are able to fill that time with another renter. Otherwise, we are not able to return any of it.

What if the unit we have rented is sold? 

Sometimes condos are sold. If it happens to a unit you have reserved we can offer the following options:

  • If the new owner agrees to use the unit as a rental, your reservation will continue without any changes.
  • If the new owner does not wish to honor the existing rentals we will do our best to help you relocate to another unit.    
  • If there is a lower cost for this unit you will be refunded the difference. If the rental cost is more you will be liable for the additional cost paid to that owner.
  • A full refund will be mailed to you if the above options are not satisfactory.
Of course we will give you as much notice as possible. 

Is there an age requirement to rent?

South Carolina Law require all renters to be at least 25 years old unless s/he is married.

What is your hurricane policy?

Our policy, in the event that a hurricane requires mandatory evacuation, you will be fully refunded for all of the nights not used during your vacation.
